Selkie Pride Regular Fit T-Shirt | Shenanigans | Wearable Art
There's something deeply magical about the folklore of the selkie.
In Celtic mythology, selkies are magical beings who live as seals in the sea but can shed their skins to walk on land as human. In many of the old stories, a selkie's skin is stolen, forcing them to hide who they really are and live a life that was chosen for them. They only become truly free when they reclaim their skin and return to their authentic self.
For so many LGBTQIA+ people, coming out is an act of reclaiming yourself. It's peeling away the expectations, assumptions, and versions of yourself that were created to make other people comfortable, and stepping into the person you've always been beneath the surface.
This design celebrates that moment of freedom.
Whether you're newly out, have been living proudly for years, or you're still finding your own path, this T-shirt is a reminder that your story belongs to you. There is no timeline, no rulebook, and no "right" way to become yourself.
At Loralai Lake, I believe everyone deserves to live openly, safely, and authentically. LGBTQIA+ rights are human rights, and this design is a celebration of every person who has found the courage to reclaim their own skin.
