Welcome to Loralai Lake — a tiny independent art studio run by one human, a computer full of illustrations, and probably too much coffee.

By visiting this website and purchasing from this shop, you agree to the following Terms of Service. These terms exist to keep things fair, clear, and legally sensible for both you and me.

Please read them before placing an order.

1. About This Shop

Loralai Lake is an independent artist brand operated by a sole trader.

Unlike large retailers, this is a one-person creative business. I design the artwork, create the collections, manage the shop, communicate with customers, and oversee the creative process behind every piece.

Because of this, I may not always respond instantly, but I will always do my best to provide a friendly, helpful, and personal service.

2. Products & Made-to-Order Items

Many products available through this shop are made to order by my print-on-demand production partner, Inkthreadable UK.

This means your item is created especially for you after you place your order. Producing items this way helps reduce waste and avoids unnecessary overproduction.

Because products are individually made:

  • Colours may vary slightly depending on your screen settings, printing processes, and material differences.

  • Artwork placement may vary slightly between products.

  • Minor manufacturing variations are not considered faults.

  • Product measurements may vary slightly within normal manufacturing tolerances.

I aim to provide accurate descriptions, photographs, and sizing information for all products, but please remember that you are purchasing an artist-designed product rather than a mass-produced item.

3. Orders & Payment

By placing an order through this website, you confirm that:

  • The information you provide is accurate and complete.

  • You are authorised to use the payment method provided.

  • You have checked your order details before completing your purchase.

Payment must be received in full before your order can be processed.

I reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order where necessary, including in cases of:

  • Suspected fraudulent activity.

  • Errors in product pricing or availability.

  • Circumstances outside my reasonable control that prevent fulfilment.

If an order is cancelled, any payment already received will be refunded.

4. Returns, Exchanges & Faulty Items

Because many Loralai Lake products are custom made to order, I cannot accept returns or exchanges for:

  • Changing your mind.

  • Ordering the wrong size.

  • Selecting the wrong colour.

  • Personal preference changes.

However, if your item arrives damaged, faulty, or there is an issue with the printing or manufacturing, please contact me within 7 days of receiving your order.

Please provide:

  • Your order number.

  • A description of the problem.

  • Clear photographic evidence of the fault.

I will work with my production partner, Inkthreadable, to investigate the issue and arrange an appropriate solution where applicable, which may include a replacement or refund.

Your statutory consumer rights under UK law are not affected.

5. Shipping & Delivery

Delivery information is provided in the Shipping Policy section of this website.

While I will always do my best to ensure your order arrives safely and promptly, delivery times are estimates and may be affected by postal delays, customs processes, supplier delays, or circumstances outside my reasonable control.

Please ensure your delivery address is correct when placing your order. I cannot accept responsibility for parcels sent to incorrect addresses supplied by the customer.

6. Intellectual Property & Artwork Rights

All artwork, illustrations, designs, characters, logos, written content, product images, and creative materials associated with Loralai Lake remain the intellectual property of Marinella Shepherdson - the artist, unless otherwise stated.

When you purchase a Loralai Lake product, you are purchasing a physical item featuring my artwork. You are not purchasing ownership or copyright of the artwork itself.

You may not:

  • Copy, reproduce, modify, or redistribute my artwork.

  • Use my designs commercially.

  • Create your own merchandise featuring Loralai Lake artwork.

  • Claim my artwork or designs as your own.

  • Remove, alter, or obscure artist credits where applicable.

Please respect independent artists and the time, skill, and creativity behind every piece.

7. AI & Machine Learning Policy

No Training. No Scraping. No Robot Art Theft.

Every Loralai Lake illustration is created by a human being - with time, skill, ideas, experimentation, mistakes, and a lot of determination behind it.

My artwork, designs, website content, product images, and creative materials may not be used to train, develop, test, fine-tune, or improve artificial intelligence or machine learning systems.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Uploading my artwork to AI image generators or AI training platforms.

  • Using Loralai Lake artwork as prompts, references, datasets, or style examples for generating new images.

  • Scraping, collecting, or downloading my artwork for inclusion in AI datasets.

  • Using automated systems to analyse, extract, reproduce, or imitate my artwork.

  • Creating AI-generated content intended to replicate my designs, characters, compositions, or artistic style.

Purchasing a Loralai Lake product does not grant permission to use my artwork for AI training, dataset creation, commercial AI development, or automated reproduction.

My artwork represents my own creative labour and intellectual property. Please respect the human behind the art and do not use my work to replace, imitate, or exploit independent artists.

If you are interested in licensing artwork, collaboration opportunities, or another permitted use, please contact me directly.

8. Website Use

You agree not to use this website:

  • For unlawful purposes.

  • To attempt unauthorised access to website systems or data.

  • To reproduce or misuse website content without permission.

I reserve the right to update, remove, or change website content, products, and services at any time.

9. Pricing & Availability

I reserve the right to change product prices, descriptions, availability, or collections at any time.

Changes will not affect orders that have already been accepted and paid for.

10. Limitation of Liability

As a small independent business, I will always do my best to provide quality products and customer service.

However, I cannot be held responsible for:

  • Delays caused by postal services, suppliers, or circumstances outside my reasonable control.

  • Damage caused by incorrect washing, care, storage, or use of products.

  • Minor variations considered normal within manufacturing processes.

Nothing in these terms limits your legal rights as a consumer under UK law.

Your personal information is handled in accordance with my Privacy Policy.

Information is only used where necessary to process orders, provide customer service, and operate this shop.
